CFDs carry a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage.
A reader in India landing on a Trade Nation page should be able to trace every claim back to a named source. That is the whole standard. Our review process runs on four measurable inputs: regulatory registers (SEBI, RBI, SCB), published fee schedules, platform behaviour under live conditions, and a fixed review date stamped on each page.
This page explains how those inputs get turned into what you read.
What We Measure First
Every Trade Nation page for India starts with the regulatory record, because it changes what the numbers below it mean.
Trade Nation Ltd holds SCB Bahamas licence No. SIA-F216. There is no SEBI registration in India. Indian retail clients are onboarded under that offshore entity, and retail offshore-forex margin trading is restricted for residents under FEMA and the RBI Alert List regime. We state that once, plainly, and then move on to the part readers actually came for: costs, execution, and platform mechanics.
| Check | What we verify | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Licence number | SCB Bahamas No. SIA-F216 | SCB register |
| Local registration | None with SEBI or RBI | SEBI / RBI |
| Alert List status | Not confirmed as listed | RBI press releases, Nov 2025 |
| Entity serving India | Trade Nation Ltd (offshore) | tradenation.com |
| Base currencies offered | GBP, EUR, USD, AUD, ZAR | tradenation.com |
The RBI states its Alert List is not exhaustive, so absence from it is not a clean bill of health. We treat it as one data point, not a verdict.
How Costs Are Compared
Spread data is the easiest thing for a broker to dress up, so we fix the conditions before quoting anything. Core trading hours only. XAG/USD, UK 100 and Gold as the benchmark instruments. Then we check whether the cost sits in the spread or in a separate commission line.
Trade Nation runs fixed spreads with zero commission on TN Trader. An MT4 account uses floating spreads instead, so the headline number moves.
| Instrument | Spread | Commission | Account type |
|---|---|---|---|
| XAG/USD | from ~0.6 pips | Zero | TN Trader |
| UK 100 | ~1 pt | Zero | TN Trader |
| Gold | ~3 pts | Zero | TN Trader |
| XAG/USD | Floating | Zero | MT4 |
We do not blend fixed and floating quotes into one average, because that number would describe nothing real. Fixed spreads cost more in quiet markets and less in volatile ones, and a reader choosing between the two tiers needs both figures separately.
Platforms and Account Tiers
Platform coverage is narrower than at some competitors and we say so: TN Trader (web and mobile) plus MetaTrader 4. No MT5, no cTrader. If your workflow depends on cTrader's depth-of-market panel or an EA built for MT5, that is a hard constraint, not a preference.
| Platform | Runs on | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| MetaTrader 4 | desktop / web / mobile | Forex and CFDs, expert advisors |
| MT5 | desktop / web / mobile | Multi-asset, more timeframes |
| cTrader | desktop / web / mobile | Depth of market, fast execution |
Account structure is a two-tier split.
- Lower-leverage tier: up to 1:30
- Higher-leverage tier: up to 1:200 via the SCB entity, subject to an internal suitability check
- Demo account available alongside both live tiers
- Minimum deposit USD 0; minimum withdrawal USD 50
Neither leverage figure is sanctioned by an Indian regulator. We print the numbers because they are what a client gets, and we flag the second fact because omitting it would make the first one misleading.
Where the Numbers Come From
Our credential is the method, not a masthead. Three rules govern every figure published here.
A number without a source does not go on the page. If we cannot attribute it, we write "not verified at review" instead.
Licence data is pulled from the regulator's own register, not from a broker's marketing page.
Cost data is re-checked against live spreads before publication, not copied from a previous review.
When something changes between reviews, we correct it rather than quietly overwrite it. Outdated pages are worse than missing ones, because a reader acts on them.
What We Do Not Do
Three exclusions keep the review usable.
- No affiliate ranking influences a regulatory finding. Presence or absence of a partnership link never changes what we say about licensing.
- No borrowed verdicts. We do not repeat "trusted by thousands" style claims from broker copy, and we do not cite forum sentiment as evidence.
- No forecasts. We describe what the platform does now, not what it might do after a future update.
We rely only on named sources: tradenation.com, the restricted-countries help documentation, the SCB register, SEBI and RBI publications, and the Income Tax Department for tax treatment. Nothing else.
What Trade Nation Does Not Offer
The honest limitations, stated once and without drama.
Depth of platform choice is thin. Four platforms exist across the wider market that Trade Nation does not offer, and a trader who has standardised on one of them will feel the gap immediately.
| Method | Deposit arrives | Withdrawal takes |
|---|---|---|
| Visa/Mastercard | instant | 2-5 business days |
| Bank transfer | 1-3 business days | 3-5 business days |
Currency handling adds a step. Account base currencies are GBP, EUR, USD, AUD and ZAR. There is no INR account, so a deposit funded from an Indian bank converts to USD and carries a conversion cost that does not appear in the spread table.
On funding methods, Visa and Mastercard and bank transfer are documented. Local INR UPI rails were not verified at review, so we do not claim them.
None of this is a reason to avoid the category. It is the list of things a careful reader should price in.
What We Would Check Instead
If cost transparency and platform breadth outrank everything else, the practical move is to compare two or three brokers on the same four dimensions rather than switching on one weak signal.
| Dimension | What good looks like |
|---|---|
| Regulation tier | FCA, CySEC or ASIC oversight alongside offshore |
| Client money | Segregated accounts, stated in writing |
| Cost structure | Spread and commission both published |
| Track record | Five years or more of continuous operation |
| Support | Live channel with a stated response window |
Trade Nation scores well on cost transparency, with zero commission and published fixed spreads. It is narrower on platform range, and its India-facing entity is offshore rather than tier-one regulated. Both statements are true at once, which is why we publish the table rather than a score.
If a stricter regulatory wrapper matters more to you than a fixed-spread model, a broker supervised by FCA, CySEC or ASIC with segregated client funds is the more defensible choice. That is a preference about risk structure, not a claim that one category is legitimate and the other is not.
Questions
Before you decide: common questions
Who writes and maintains these Trade Nation pages?
An editorial desk that works from regulator registers and published fee schedules rather than broker marketing material. Every page carries a review date so you can judge how current the figures are.
Which sources are acceptable for a claim on this site?
Named ones only: tradenation.com, the Trade Nation restricted-countries documentation, the SCB register, SEBI and RBI publications, and the Income Tax Department for tax rules. Forum posts and aggregator review sites are excluded.
Why does the India page mention the RBI Alert List?
Because RBI publishes a list of unauthorised forex platforms and states it is not exhaustive, so a reader should know it exists as a verification step. Trade Nation's presence on that list was not confirmed at review, and we say so rather than implying either outcome.
Does regulation appear once or throughout a review?
Once, near the top, stated plainly. Repeating a regulatory warning through every section turns a review into a scare page, and readers stop trusting both the warning and the numbers around it.
How often is spread data re-checked?
Before each republish, against live platform quotes during core hours. Fixed and floating spreads are recorded separately, and MT4 floating figures are never merged with TN Trader fixed figures in the same row.
